History

Calvary Baptist Church in Midland was established in 1874.

The current location was built in 1977.

Volunteer leadership

All leaders are required to have police record checks.

Decisions at Calvary Baptist are made through an Executive Council which has four main ministries:

  • Worship and Pastoral Care Ministry
  • Stewardship, Finance, and Property Ministry
  • Christian Education Ministry
  • Mission and Outreach Ministry

Other Things to Know

Upon personal request and testimony we baptize believers who have accepted Jesus Christ as personal Saviour and Lord.

We practise open church membership for baptized persons confirmed in other Christian denominations who present demonstrating faithfulness to the Lord and personal participation at Calvary Baptist.

Congregational business meetings are called by Executive Council. Adherents have voting privileges on all non-religious matters.

The church budget is met by voluntary tithes, gifts, and offerings. Offering envelope sets are available when regularly giving. A visitor envelope is available for all receipt contact information. Tax receipts are issued by February of the following year.

A capital reserve fund has been established toward a new furnace, roof, and installation of an elevator.

Occasional special events are held to raise funds toward programs, operating expenses, and property upkeep.
